Decent Low Profile(ish) Cooler

Whats the best cooler under 150mm tall, without breaking the bank? Looking for a better cooler for my Q6600 in a Fractal Design Core 1000.

 

Seems a Hyper 212 is just too big, so anything with similar price/cooling that is a bit shorter would be perfect. Any suggestions? I might just get a 212 and drill holes where the heatpipes are.

Something like the Coolermaster Gemini M4 or the GeminII S524 sounds like it would fit the bill for you. Now, you should know that I don't own either personally, heh.

You could also go for something like the Corsair h80i, as most low profile CPU air coolers really don't perform all that well.

Cant seem to find the GeminII S524 in the UK, and the M4 doesnt seem to perform that well.

I would go with a h80 or something but i dont fancy mounting it on my side panel, which is the only 120mm space.

You could also look at something like the Noctua NH C14 at 130mm if you are not opposed to that style of cooler.  I have one currently and it does a good job

 

 

Then there is also the Noctua NH U12P at 125mm

I would go for a blow down cooler like the noctua c-14 or the phanteks version of it.
