Antec Khuler H2O 1250 Noise Solution

Holy crap the stock fans on this thing are loud.  The Antec Grid software needs MAJOR improvement such as fan curves, etc, and once the CPU is above 40C, the fans are intolerably loud.

 

SOLUTION...

 

Uninstall Grid and unplug the unit from the USB header.

 

Plug a case fan into the CPU fan header, and plug the Antec unit into a "Chassis Fan" or "Optional Fan" PWM header.

 

Set the CPU fan control to Silent/Quiet so the case fan won't spin up very much.

 

Set the PWM control going to the Antec unit to a duty cycle of 60%.

 

RESULT...

 

Fans spin at 500-800 RPM

 

Unit is DEAD QUIET

 

CPU temps for i7-990X @ 4.25GHz with 1.4v 70-75C under Prime95 Small FFT.
