Intel Memory Controller issue? Ivy Bridge and Haswell.

I have been told that The Memory Controller on some Haswell Processors is flawed. Not to say it is broken or does not function but certain speeds and looser timings will cause instability. How much of that is true?

for Exapmple  and again this not confirmed, 1600MHz at say tighter timing like 9-9-9 24 are fine but something like 1866MHz at 9-10-9 28 or 10-11-10 30 is not. ... Let me know please.

There is no problem.  You can use any RAM with Intel.  It is an issue of voltage, not timings.  1.5v is all that is verified by Intel.  Just because it isn't verified by Intel, doesn't mean it wont work.  I personally have an i5-4670k with 2400Mhz, 10-12-12-30, 1.65v RAM.  Never had an issue.  Installed without a problem, enabled XMP and has worked ever since.

Haswell Memory controllers are the best available.

 

Ivybridge mem controller is not as strong.
