So the day is finally approaching. I went to the NCIX retail store last night and paid for all of the components. I'm waiting on the case and the memory, they should be here around Monday or Tuesday. I was hoping to have the build completed before Christmas, but it looks like I will have to build it next weekend.

Yeh, locked processor +Z97 board makes no sense.

I wasn't originally going to get this board, but the one that I had selected wasn't compatible with Haswell refresh CPUs, and I have no way to update the BIOS. It was easier for me to get a compatible board that I can't take full advantage of than have to get another CPU for a BIOS update.
