I was wondering if anyone has had personal experience with Origin Laptops. I’ve been searching for a gaming Laptop and have received recommendations for Asus, MSI, Alienware, and Sager. No Origin though, and one thing I really like about their laptops as opposed to some of the others is the ability to upgrade the processor/graphics without going up in screen size. I want the most power I can get with a 15” screen and Origin appears to be the best at delivering this. Also I don’t mind the fact the Origin laptop is a bit more bulky. I figure it would cost a lot more to get a laptop with my desired specifications that was really thin. Although price is the primary deterrent for a thin laptop I would also be concerned with thermal issues.

If you have any other recommendations on brand, specifications, and or anything else I would appreciate it. Thanks!

You don't need 6GB of VRAM for a 1080p screen. Also at this price, you should be getting 16GB of RAM. it seems very over priced for the hardware you are reciving. You could get double the performance for the same cost on a desktop. Also you don't really need a DVD drive.

 eGPU Setup: Macbook Pro 13" 16GB DDR3 RAM, 512GB SSD, i5 3210M, GTX 980 eGPU

New PC: i7-4790k, Corsair H100iGTX, ASrock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer, 24GB Ram, 850 EVO 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD, GTX 1080 Fractal Design R4, EVGA Supernova G2 650W

This is true for Sager as well. OriginPC Eon15-S is a Clevo P157SM-A (but with their own backlid and logo), which the Sager NP8258 is also based on. For the same specification, you are able to get it for $2000. Or configured it to the 980m for $2300. Both of which is still cheaper than the Origin. You can buy it at XoticPC: http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np8258-clevo-p157sma-p-6988.html

If you want an idea of what you may expect from these units here a few reviews from other vendors.

Here's a review of the P157SM-A under the AVADirect branding at Notebook Review: http://www.notebookreview.com/notebookreview/avadirect-clevo-p157sm-a-review/

Here's a review of an older revision of the P157SM under the One branding at Notebook Check: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-One-K56-3N2-Clevo-P157SM-Notebook.93275.0.html
