Screen going blank upon opening games

Hey guys,

I just got my GTX 970 today and I am getting this odd problem. Whenever I open a game the screen flickers and then its black. I can still hear the sound going through my speakers but i can't alt+tab to get to the game, the only way i can do it is by turning off my monitor and turning it back on. This also happens when I leave the game too. (EX- Opening up a League of Legends game black screens me and after the Ending screen it does the same thing). Has anyone else had a similar problem? What can I do to fix this problem?

Do you have other displays to try out?
