i have just gotten my new g3240 cpu and asrock h81m-itx motherboard (no wifi) and a bit fenix prodogy case becase i have seen it in a few vids and thought it look awesome. anyways im trying to overclock my g3240 and it will let me underclock and thats about it im a little confused to why this is happening and i cant find an answer on the web i have been looking for about a week now... any help would be much appreciated

did you flash the BIOS to the latest version?

 

 

Also G3240 is locked

 

only the G3258 is the unlocked Pentium

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Any other cheap overclockable CPUs youd recomend

you are only limited to the G3258

 

but first flash your mobo BIOS

 

coz H81 by default will not support the G3258 CPU

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

there is barely any cheaper cpu from intel which is able to oc like the G3258

Also do you know if my board supporrtes over clocking its a asrock h81m itx it's running the latest bios (2.00)

yes version 1.9 already supports the G3258

 

 

Any one have some mystical solution to my gtx 670 hitting the side panel of my case cos it fits when its slightly pushed towards the CPU heat sink

might be GPU sag

 

guess your casing is small?

Its a bit finex prodigy (itx) and I chopped the top of the back plate of the graphics card so it only took the 2 slots on the back of the case. If I hold the card back while its running it has no problem but as soon as I let it go it falls slightly to the heat sink side which is faceing the outer case
