Help me find a patch!

So I bought Assassin's Creed 1 quite some time ago and I have since backed it up to ISO format because the DVD is scratched to hell and it won't run without the DVD in the drive. i was pretty sure one of the patches (1.02 or 1.03) removed the need for the DVD to be in the drive but i can't find anything online. Ubisoft's website doesn't have it plus its a bitch to navigate.

 

I don't know if theres a patch 1.03 but I remember that from somewhere.
