i7 or no?

so currently i have an i5 4690k i was wondering if I should upgrade to a i7 4790k. My reasoning being that i can trade in my i5 at microcenter for 180 and the are selling the i7 for 240. so thats only a 60$ difference!!!! So what is the general consensus?

I would do that, if I had the extra $60.  -That said you don't have a gpu  ????

For only $60?  Yea.. thats not a bad deal at all.  Entirely unnecessary, but thats too good of a bargain to pass up.

if it is just for gaming, i would say it is not really needed. however, i did buy a 4790K myself for gaming, so what do i know ;P i bought mine so that i could leave my system as-is for a couple years, then when i do upgrade, it will be my graphics card.(basically i bought this so it would last me a graphics card upgrade or two) that is why i bought mine.

 

also, the i7 is good for content creation(ie video editing and stuff) so if you do that, the i7 would be a worthy upgrade.
