Getting buzzing/static noise off onboard.....

My onboard was dead quiet since I built it, up until a few days ago where I've been picking up soft  buzzing/static in the background. It seems to only show itself when I am gaming, and disappears at all other times. Anyone know what could be the problem here? I've tried with speakers and different headphones and the result is the same. Really didn't want to bother with a sound card which is half the reason I picked out this mobo...

It could be picking up interference from your GPU or PSU or something along the lines of those parts.

One thing you could try, enable V-Sync and see if it fixes it.

My onboard makes noise when my FPS goes through the roof when my GPU starts coil whining in game loading screens/ menus, enabling v-sync fixed it.

(worth a try atleast)

I was running V-Sync =/

I have no idea why I would be hearing interference now, when I've played very demanding games in the past and never had this issue.

Guess it's time to look for a soundcard?

A soundcard could still have the same issue if it's picking up interference from inside the case.   (It's less likely that the soundcard will pick up the same issue, but it's possibly considering it's still inside the case)

I'd recommend getting a Syba DAC/Amp combo.

It's relatively cheap and has a nice volume wheel:
