Hello there!

I'm actually a newbie in setting up my own pc. I just need some tips and advice regarding on how to build a pc.
Here are the parts that I'm planning to buy for christmas.

PROCESSOR: INTEL CORE I5 4690K 3.6GHZ LGA 1150 Haswell  MOTHERBOARD: GIGABYTE GA-Z97-D3H CASING: CORSAIR CARBIDE 400R MEMORY MODULE: 8GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE PRO DDR3 1600 4GB X 2  PRIMARY STORAGE: WD 1TB SATA BLACK  COOLING SYSTEM: CORSAIR HYDRO H100I LIQUID CPU COOLER PSU: CORSAIR GAMING SERIES GS600W 2013 ED   VIDEO CARD: PALIT GTX 750Ti STORMX DUAL

Is this enough for a gaming pc? if not, what should i get?

And also, should I get a Razer keyboard and mouse?

Thank you!

It is quite an underkill GPU compared to the rest of the setup, are you sure you can't get something like a gtx970 in? Or at least a 760.

Also, keyboard and mouse choice should be up to you, but I'm no fan of Razer products.

Asus B85M-G / Intel i5-4670 / Sapphire 290X Tri-X / 16GB RAM (Corsair Value 1x8GB + Crucial 2x4GB) @1333MHz / Coolermaster B600 (600W) / Be Quiet! Silent Base 800 / Adata SP900 128GB SSD & WD Green 2TB & SG Barracuda 1TB / Dell AT-101W / Logitech G502 / Acer G226HQL & X-Star DP2710LED

If you can avoid Razer then do it, it's just not worth the hasstle if you don't really need the 16-button mmo mouse, Razer software is cancer.

You can probably get a cheaper CPU cooler Cooler master hyper 212 EVO is usually popular. And the PSU is probably a bit overkill, but a PSU lasts a long time so why not get yourself some room for future upgrades :)

What kinds of games are you playing and what kind of graphics details do you want to hit?

Lastly Linus has many build guide vids on youtube :)

I assume you intend to overclock with that cooler, CPU and motherboard, I would suggest trying to get a better graphics card, by getting the i5 4690, a coolermaster hyper 212 evo and a H97 series motherboard since the GPU matters more for gaming, my personal choice of keyboard and mouse are the Corsair K70 (non RGB) and the Shogun Bros Ballista MK1 but that's me

Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.2Ghz | Evga GTX 780 Ti SC ACX with backplate | MSI Gaming 9 AC | 8GB (2x4) Corsair Vengeance Pro Silver 2400 MHz | Corsair H105 128GB Crucial MX100 | Toshiba 2TB | Evga 750G2 | Corsair Obsidian 750d | Be Quiet Silent Wings 2 PWM (3x140mm & 3x120mm)

How good the game looks, so Low, Medium, High, Ultra are fairly common presets.

I would get an SSD over a stock mechanical HDD and if you run out of space on the SSD then get a HDD but

also I wouldn't get the 750ti get an R9 280X or a GTX 970 if your able too

Plus you need some type of aftermarket cooler for your CPU unless you don't intend on overclocking then just get the 4690 non K version and save some money

Do you want to play on lowest graphics, medium or in the highest? With a 750Ti you will be on the lowest low in those kinds of games.

And if you have the abillity to read, then you'll see that he has a H100i in his list, that CPU cooler enough for you?

around high to medium.

my budget for a graphics card would be around 335 USD. i'm in the philippines.

Then you should probably swap out that black drive with a blue one, and get a cheaper CPU cooler like the Hyper 212 EVO. There's probably someone who can recommend a cheaper MB for you, and then spend that money on a better GPU and get a much better gaming experience :)

i would suggest sacrificing the CPU, motherboard and cooler, for cheaper alternatives like the i5 4690, a H97 board and the coolermaster evo, and see how much that gives you and then reallocate your budget so that you are putting that money towards a better GPU, an SSD is probably out of your reach unless you get a 60Gb one for a boot drive but that should not be the focus of your budget but a future upgrade.

An r9 280x is available here. should i get that one instead, then?

Yes, unless the R9 290 is possible

I would suggest getting something better than a GTX 750TI.

Personally it would be worth it in the long run to pick up a GTX 970 or GTX 960 when it comes out.

I would recommend the MIONIX Naos 3200 over the Razer deathadder, its also cheaper.

Honestly though, Razer products are fine. They are just a little pricey & seem to have some negativity towards them.

I own the Razer deathstalker keyboard, its not my favorite anymore as I do want a mechanical keyboard but it still kicking after a year!

blackshades on

we still don't have a gtx 970 available here in our location. though an amd r9 280x is available. the gtx 750ti is the latest here.

the razer prices are so damn high! but it damn looks good, though.
