CPU boot problems

guys im having troubles with a 'socket 462' also known as socket A

 

I've currently got a sempron in the socket and im installing a athlon xp 1900+ and for some reason it would boot with the athlon.

 

I've got a 330W and its compatible for the swap just it wont boot :S

Have you checked the pins on the underside of the CPU?

slots in perfectly fine, just i dont get any post screen

Does the CPU actually function? Have you changed any other hardware during the CPU swap?

havent changed any, only removed a hard drive. I'm going to try the other cpu again

had no luck from the CPU not sure what could be wrong might even have ordered a dead cpu

save the time and effort of that, it boots up both the same on the sempron and athlon just doesnt post on the athlon, i dont see any problem with the power supply.

You don't get it do you.... If the mobi does not post, it gives out an error. Ode or two through lights...

Your CPU is dead. That is my what I consider to be an educated guess.

i dont have a light on the motherboard, just the usual activity LED and power :/
