I'm currently considering to buy a new motherboard for my pc.

my questions is. if i change my motherboard

  • will i then be able to reactivate windows 8 ( i have the product code )?
  • will i have to reinstall OS , and how should i go about it. (i dont have CD or usb with windows)?

If there is any other things i should keep in mind when/if changing motherboard , i would be happy to know :D

I hope somebody will be able to help.

Thanks in advance!  :D

You dont need to reinstall anything, just the drivers

rig: i7 4770k @4.1Ghz (delidded), Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600Mhz, ROG Maximus VI Hero, Noctua NH-D14, EVGA GTX980SC, Samsung 850 EVO 500GB, Corsair SF600, self-built wooden Case, CoolerMaster QuickFire TK, Logitech G502, Blue Yeti, BenQ GW2760HS

There might be some bugs, but at least in my experience it will probably be just fine. Of course you're going to need to install the new mobo drivers, but other than that, everything else should be the same.

Hm ok . so i wont have to reactivate windows or be worried that my windows claims that it is a unlicensed version ? :)

if so , that would be sweet :D.

Your windows is in your hard drive, so your desktop it's going to be there exactly as you left it :P
