in flashtool im pressing

flash drive, fastboot mode, reboot into fastboot mode (via ADB), reboot into fastboot mode (via fastboot), select kernel to flash, then i just select the img, and get the error

type fastboot devices and see if it shows your device

also make sure USB Debugging is enabled then type (while the phone is on) Adb reboot-bootloader then fastboot devices if its there type the command if it does not work try replacing the USB cable or port

do you mean that i should type fastboot devices in CMD, because it does not work

i have already enabled USB debugging, and if i type that command, i get the recognized error again

Do you have android SDK set up?

Make sure you shift right click, then open command window here, in the same folder you have the Adb.exe Fastboot.exe files for the SDK. Should be c:\Android\Platform-tools

Issues like that can be pretty random, have you tried simply redownloading the kernel file or trying another USB port?

That often worked with my Xperia Z

will try redownloading kernel, but my USB port is working properly
