Operation Winn-dixie freedom

            So i was on my way back from dinner today with my family and we were gonna stop at winn-dixie for some stuff for the week. When we pulled into the parking lot their were 7 Sand camo U.S. Army issued humviee's in the parking lot. when we got out 6 were leaving and me and my dad went to check it out (my dad really wants one). we started talking to the lieutenant that was trying to get a replacement break pad because theirs fell off while driving. My dad was asking questions about it like how reliable it is, how much gas it uses. The stuff he told us was shocking and funny because he said the life span on this is 6 months and then engine problems occur and parts start to mess up. The funny thing is that they sell them to the afghani and iraqi army right before they started pulling out in this "ready to fall apart" condition. he then said and i quote: "So if we ever have to go over their again, they will probably just be sitting in the sand useless....an easy fight!" 

 

I thought this was pretty funny and wanted to share this story!

Oh Americans and your cars :P I bet it can only make left turns and goes around corners about as well as a planet... JK 'muricans :P.

 

On a more serious note did he mention how much diesel it uses, any mpg figures perhaps? I'd be surprised if they get more than 5mpgs.

It was between 8-12 which is pretty impresive! my dad 06' F350 gets around 14.5 to 16.
