I'd go with the 840 Pro. RevoDrive got a three out of five stars on hothardware.com.

I would go for a ssd because it's smaller and higher capacity and you can mount it everywhere.

Depends if you're talking about the 240GB X2 version of the RevoDrive, and whether you actually need sequential reads above 500MB/s.

Ah ok, 840 pro it is then. There's not actually much speed benefit from that particular RevoDrive, since it was designed pre-SATA III in order to move past the 3Gb/s bottleneck of SATA II. Both drives are capable of around 500MB/s sequential reads. The RevoDrive might be faster on writes but is also much harder to boot from/set up and does not support TRIM so will not last as long as the 840 pro.
