I just put the 2 card up a slot and the SLI feature is available. Only problem is the cards are too close together and the fans touch the second card.

Did you install an SLI bridge? Yes or no?

 

Never mind. This means that you put one of that cards in a slot that was 4x electrically. SLI demands 8x at least

Just installed 2 STRIX GTX 970's into my system to replace HD6970's in crossfire, and theres no SLI option.

The cards are showing up in device manager and NVIDIA control panel but there is just no SLI Option. The card are installed just like my old HD6970's which worked fine in crossfire.

Configure surround, PhysX > Enable SLI

 

It's that simple. This Nvidia control panel is not very well made for ease of use though IMO

 

Edit: Also make sure the SLI bridge is installed

 What motherboard do you have?

Is the sli bridge connected did you connect power to both cards?

Specs are in the my signature. I have a Gryphon Z87.

Nvidia drivers are good and all but their control panel is so damn ugly! Seriously they really need to change it. My old card was an amd and although my nvidia one is much faster I can't get over how much better catalyst control centre was.

Its just now a matter of trying to space them apart enough so that the fans on GUP1 dont touch the GPU2 back plate. Im using the foam included in the boxes of the cards wrapped in electrical fabric tape. Ill see how this goes.

So i found out why the fan on one of my gpu's were catching so bad. The coolers are slightly different. On my newest one the fan sticks out the shroud more than the other GPU, so ive swapped them around, this pic show what i mean.

Also now i have to have the cards so close, not what i initially wanted to do the temps on GPU1 go crazy, so ive resulted in having this fan layed on top. Now each GPU idle temp is between 29-32C.
