Hi.

I have some questions about the new rig that i am planning for. This will be the first time i ever build a PC by my own and i will need a lot of help.

Planned Build:

Chassi: Corsair Obsidian 450D (Planning on 2 Corsair Air series SP140 LED (Red) instead of the ones that come included in the chassi. Also planning on a Corsair Air series SP120 High Preformance in the back aswell.)
Motherboard: EDIT: Changed to MSI Z97 Gaming 3. Thanks for the help.
CPU: Intel Core i7 4790k
Cooler for CPU: Corsair Hydro H100i (I'm planning on replacing the fans that come with the H100i to 2 Corsair Air series SP120 High Preformance. Will it give extra preformance out of the H100i? I also don't really care about the noise since i mostly play games on high volume anyways and i do not plan to have the PC on during night time.)
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 760 2GB Windforce. (It's the one i have in my current PC. I am going to update this in the future or just buy a new one directly.)
RAM: Corsair 8GB (2x4GB) CL9 1600Mhz VENGEANCE LP (In my current PC.)
Harddrives:
SSD: Samsung 840 Evo 128GB
HDD: 1TB Western Digital Blue 7200rpm 64MB

Now for some questions.
How many fans will the motherboard actually support? 3 fans for the case (2 140MM LED and 1 120MM High Preformance) and 2 (120MM, High Preformance) for the H100i.
I want a cool PC. Noise level don't really matter.

What GPU should i pick instead of the GTX 760? I want to play games in good graphics with a good framerate. I play Battlefield, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Far Cry 4, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Arma 2/DayZ, and more high demanding games.

As for the PSU, i have a 600W Corsair PSU in my current PC. Is that enough or do i need to upgrade that aswell? I am planning on overclocking the CPU and maybe the GPU.

Anything else that i should switch out or add to the build?

Thank you for reading through my little text and an extra thank you if you are able to help. I am sorry if theres any grammar errors, i am Swedish.

xoxo
Meister

go with a z97 chipset. it'll let you OC (even if you dont plan on overclocking, you may change your mind in the future)

Thanks for the response!

A 980 or 2x970 will fit the build perfectly

You need a z97 board to over clock the cpu

Thanks for the response! I will look into the GPU's :)

Oh yeah. I've heard that SLI gives Stutter in games. Is this true?

SLI can give issues in games, but its not nrearly as bad as it used to be. In general though, a single powerful graphics card is better than 2 mid-range cards.

If i were you, i'd sell the 760 anf get a 280 or 290

It was true in the past, but more games are supporting sli on release now so it shouldn't be that much of a problem. There are games that don't support sli, but if you have a 970, or any strong single gpu, it should be fine.

I'm not really a fan of the AMD GPU's. It seems like most games work better with Nvidia.

AMD gpus are pretty good. the drivers may or may not have been bad in the past (i cannot verify this as i wasn't into PC gaming until a few years ago). AMD gpus usually give amazing price/performance when compared to Nvidia. If you really wanna go with team green, i'd say get the GTX 970

Dual GTX 970 or Single?

signle 970. if you need more performance, go with the 980 or wait for AMD's R9 3XX series
