Best software

I'm going to upgrade to an Intel Core I7 4790k and ASUS Z97-AR LGA 1150 Intel ATX Motherboard.  I know it will require a fresh windows start up.  Though what would the best software for gaming(not video recording)?  What is the best anti-virus?  What are the best BIOS settings.  I'm upgrading the drivers aswell.

fore anti virus its all simular if you want free you can use avg or avast or you can pay fore something like avg or nordon(sory fore gramar) software fore games i can say someting like raprtor aka amd gaming evolved(can be used on intell or nvidia)its not bad and you can get something out of it.

As for BIOS settings, there are no optimal ones. It depends so much from user what you want. The basic things you should do are to set correct boot order and set SATA mode to ACHI (or RAID if you are using such). Other stuff is mainly for tweakers and overclockers. You shouldn't touch those unless you have read what they do first. If you have ram that can do over 1600MHz, you can activate XMP but benefits are really small.
