Stress/stability test applications?

Go to solution Solved by Grrizz,

OCCT, HeavyLoad and prime95 are good ones IMO.

Edit: Oh and SiSoft Sandra.

Hello,

This is my first time overclocking a cpu and I'm ready to make the leap. However I do not own a copy of Aida 64, was there a different application I could use to stress test my cpu without paying for Aida64?

My cpu is a Pentium G3258 Anniversary Edition and my motherboard is a Asus ROG Z-97 Hero using a Corsair H100i to cool.  I know it's overkill for the cpu but I will be upgrading that to a 4690k in a few months.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

prime95 is not recommended for Haswell cpus as it can overvolt and damage the chip. Use AIDA64 to be safe.

No it doesn't. Not if you use manual voltage.

Watch it on newegg tv. JJ from Asus strongly advised against using it.

Reread. If you use manual, manual (not crappy adaptive) voltage, Prime95 and Haswell will get along like a house on fire.
