I just wanted to share my upgrade plan with you guys, and get your thoughts.

December=~$400, Desk+chair=$200, 2TB HDD=~80. $120 left over, maybe some games, not sure yet.

January=~$205, Corsair K70 Brown Switch keyboard not RGB=$140. $65 left over, save probably.

February=~$205, Swiftech H240-X=$150, $55 left over, saving.

March on I'm going to save for an Intel build, something similar to this one. The H240-X, 2TB, my monitors from my Current PC, my current case, mouse and the K70 will be used in that build. I'm also gonna buy a new case for my current PC. Maybe a Define R5. What do you guys think? If you need me to explain something just ask. Thanks.

Looks decent enough I guess but in your planned build pcpartpicker you include Hard drives, Monitors and a Keyboard that you probably wouldn't buy as you'd have bought the K70 etc.

Hmm...not bad, but you're obviously loving the ASUS one now since it's an actual PC monitor :P.

Do you calibrate your displays or not really?

Just kinda to what looks best to me. The ASUS one hasn't lived up to my expectations in the color area. Viewing angles are great though. Colors look pale.

This only applies to AMD GPUs such as the Radeon 7950 used on our test system. When connected via the monitor’s only digital input (HDMI) we navigated to ‘Catalyst Control Centre –> My Digital Flat-Panels –> Pixel Format’ and changed this from the default ‘YCbCr 4:4:4 Pixel Format’ to ‘RGB 4:4:4 Pixel Format PC Standard (Full RGB)’. The screen then re-established connection and lists ‘RGB’ for the input colour format in ‘Color Settings’ on the monitor’s OSD. This didn’t alter the colour significantly (we checked for tell-tale signs of colour signal range issues) but added a little extra contrast – around 150:1 extra which is a nice little freebie. The setting to change is shown in the screenshot below.
