nVidia 320.18 Driver kernel problems with 525M

<p>During games, my driver kernel seemingly randomly crashes(stops responding is what the the little window says), and completely stops the game and won't let me start it again after it then says that the problem has been fixed. A lot of the time my entire system crashes with it.</p>

<p>Note: I have already tired reinstalling and it made no difference, I'm using a nVidia 525M.</p>

I normally have that when the GPU starts dying since that happened on both my 8800GTX and my GTX 460. Hopefully that's not happening to you. Make sure that it gets good airflow. The vents might be blocked with duct.

I cleaned the vents out just yesterday and it made very little difference. I'm just trying to figure out why the kernel is having problems and what I can do about it.

Could maybe windows. Could you try reinstall windows and see if it fixes it. Windows could have a bad reg key or something that causes problems

Or it could be the new 320.18 Nvida drivers. i heard someone had problems with his GTX 480 (i think) after updating to those. I ignored that clue and installed it myself (GTX 460 SE).

Next day i started having random unresponsiveness for couple seconds, everything just stopped, like a freeze. Seems unharmfull, bui it was very annoying. Also my GPU fan boosted to max for last half second during bootdown.

I just uninstaled all Nvidia drivers, cleaned registry and all temporary files. Reinstalled back my 314.22 and all problems stopped.

If i were you I'd give that a try, much faster and more convenient than reinstalling windows.

Something "fun" happened when I went back and re-installed 314.22 WQL. All my games have stopped recognising my GPU and they're all trying to run on Intel HD 4000. Help?

did you clean the OS of the 320 drivers first ?..did you clean the registry and then install the 314 drivers..?

Same problem with my bros gt 630m.

Well, I got the GPU to work again by re-installing the latest driver, now to try to install 314.22.

Got the GPU working with 314.22 Driver, no difference. I think Mr. Marzio's suggestion is in order.

Yes. It may help with your current troubles. Have you seen any other issues?

No just the kernel going insane and crashing my pc every 10mins - 1hr whilst gaming.

It seems to have stabilised on the 314.22 Driver. Thanks for your time guys!
