gtx 770 or 280x/290 are going for good prices atm but still might be kinda pricey depending on what budget youre on.

4690K // 212 EVO // Z97-PRO // Vengeance 16GB // GTX 770 GTX 970 // MX100 128GB // Toshiba 1TB // Air 540 // HX650

I would say r9 270/270X.

If your budget is higher, I have been recommended 285/280X before, and even higher, a 290.

Or a GTX 770.

Just my recommendations.
