Asus m5a97 r2.0 and Fx6300 Can I overclock?

Go to solution Solved by KingDaddyDaniel,

Yep! I have this mobo and the 6350 clocked to 4.3Ghz on the stock cooler

I bought all of my PC parts and I was pretty confident about my build, but I just noticed that the m5a97 only has a 4 pin connector for the CPU I think, and not 8 pin.  Will I be able to overclock my fx-6300?  Not going further than 4.5ghz MAX 4.6.  I'm worried that I might have to exchange my motherboard now but will it work?  I have a 750W PSU btw so that's not a problem

Yea you should be able to do so. If you didn't get the LE board then your fine all you need is a good CPU fan and your good to go.

NEVER GIVE UP. NEVER STOP LEARNING. DONT LET THE PAST HURT YOU. YOU CAN DOOOOO IT
