Battlefield 4 Sound problems

Hi LinusTechTips!

 

I know this issue might not be relative to LinusTechTips forums as this forum is about hardware discussions etc but I think this is the best way to ask for help and get fast feedback as i know there is a lot of gamers

 

 

So im a BF4 player

 

Everything was fine until today. My sound is just gone. Everytime I start the game I just dont have any sound. I tried to restart PC , restart Game, Reconnect headphones ... tried everything but I guess I missed something so I need your help!

 

 

Weird thing is that only in BF4 I have these sound problems. Youtube, Windows Players etc anything related to sound works just BF4 doesnt ...

Did you check the game options, also did you check to see if the sound is going to a different playback device?

On top of the above post, make sure that BF4 has its audio enabled in the Windows Sound Mixer.

Checked. Everything looks fine.

Checked. BF4 shows in the Sound Mixer and its on 100%

Right-click on the Sound mixer and click on "Playback Devices" than see if there are any other devices listed and make sure to set the one you have as the default.

Update: Only using headphones

 

 

Dont have any other speakers or anything

Make sure you have the latest patch of BF4 as it seems like there were sound issues in January.

 

Otherwise, I'm not sure what else to recommend.

 I had to instal some new Web Plugin but that was like 4-5 days ago thats all

I would try doing that anyway, one of the files could be corrupted.

Update: Sound is working now. Just turned off youtube but .... I want some music as well

Update; Now youtube doesnt work but BF4 works.

              Brother will have a look at that tommorow ... something weird is going on in this computer
