Battlefield 4 problems.

No I wouldn't have thought it would be the drive mate, I'm still rocking a hard drive as the main and when I enable VSYNC it is pretty much a solid 60fps with the GTX 780 with occasional dips.

Forcing a specific frame rate is difficult, and when Vsync drops below 60 it automatically tries lowering itself to an even lower stable framerate. It's always better to just leave it off.

but its not smooth...I been wanting a 144hz monitor. but they are toooooooo expensive!

Hello guys i just got a 970 and it works perfectly. but i gotta ask a question....i turned on vsync and it never stays on 60fps. its always dropping. is it my harddrive? i'm getting a SSD for xmas from my mother and i bought my 970 my self.

If it drops even a frame below 60 it will drop to 30. Always turn vsync off in game and go through the nvidia control panel and turn on adaptive vsync which turns vsync off when it drops below 60 and back on when it catches up.

Sets a maximum framerate.....not really Vsync where it tries to lock it. I works well for me, because it caps out at 60, but won't do anything crazy when dipping below 60 shortly. Enable it in the console and try how it works for you. Actually keeps temps down too because well duh, GPU is not working as hard most of the time. ;-)
