I wrote about this in another thread and got no replys so here i am again hoping someone can help.

The hdmi cable leading from my tv to gpu is sparking when touching metal and at random times it shocks the gpu making my primary monitor go crazy and require a reboot to fix. Gpu is 270x primary monitor is connected via dvi.

I should hope so there both connected to mains power.

I would try getting a new HDMI cable. If that works, try getting a gold plated one, they prevent corrosion and such.

It is a new hdmi cable from Amazon with gold connectors.

Try going to a local store and picking one up... Amazon products aren't always the best when its a cable or adapter. I had a HDMI to DVI adapter that did something like this. (which I ordered from amazon.)

It could also be a problem with the outlet as well. Growing up with my father, I learned quite a bit about "being a handyman". The outlet itself could not have a ground wire on it, which could be causing the monitor/tv and the pc to spark when touched with the cable. Try them on a different outlet, or with a surge protector or both. Let me know what happens.

The pc itself is powered by a surge protector but the tv isn't. Thanks for your help i guess i will just have to play around with it.
