@UltimateAlloy25 I don't know about in Australia but here in Canada you can get AC units that sit in a window for about 100-200 bucks is that not an option?

I am the one who goes bump in the night... usually making a sandwich.

my 'window' is a glass sliding door with a security screen that goes from the floor to near the ceiling, so its a bit hard to mount anything in it

You can freeze a lot of ice in say 2l pop bottle then have two fans blow air at it. The energy in the room gets dumped into the ice melting it while simultaneously removing the energy from the air keeping it cooler. This is what I did during the summer and man did it make a shit tonne better.
