Hello everyone can you tell me what is the difference between those lga cpu sockets and what are they?

Basically, the different sockets are for different generation CPUs... I'll update with more info in a minute

LGA sockets correspond to Intel's CPUs and motherboards

ALL LGA sockets have a number after them (LGA 1155 for example). the number means the number of pins the socket has.

When picking a CPU and motherboard, you need to be sure they have the same socket

the LGA#### socket is intel. the number after LGa is the number of pins the socket has. you cannot use for example a socket LGA 1155 with a   LGA 1150 CPU

however, there are pentiups, i3 , i5 , i7 and other cpu's compatible with each chipset

Hello everyone can you tell me what is the difference between those lga cpu sockets and what are they?

LGA 1156 is first gen intel cpu's 600 series and 800 series

LGA 1155 is second and 3 gen CPU's  like 2500, 2600, 2700 and the gen 3 H2 versons 3570 3770

LGA 1150 is 4 gen Cpu's 4670,4770 on z87 boards and the refresh for z97 4790 and 4690 CPUs

Also there is LGA 2011 which is the 4920 4930 4960 CPU's

then the new refresh LGA 2011v3  5820, 5830, 5860
