WTF? It starts to throttle at 50*C. I am at 1.35V @4.7 Ghz. And dont tell me to reduce the oc thats stupid. I even disabled thermal throttle but nooo..

Maybe somehow I will manage to stick that huge 200mm fan somewhere near vrms.. oh wait nope thats not possible.

What temperature monitoring software are you using?

I read from somewhere that AMD CPU temp sensors are a bit more inaccurate than those of Intel's. Is that true?

Cores or socket? I had the same issue where my 8320 would throttle even though core temps were sub 50C because the socket was hitting 70C.

According to speccy core temp doesnt reach 60*C...

He's not talking about core temp though.  He's saying the throttling could be coming from your motherboard overheating instead of your cpu, which is entirely possible.

could be exceeding the VRM limits (not temperature but actual voltage control).

i had the UD3 v3 and couldn't really get any type of decent stability unless the

VRM were ice cubes. then once that was licked, then it was just crapping stability

because of the VRM handling. moved to an ASUS Crosshair 5 Formula Z and

all that went away with increased voltage on CPU and RAM.

bases covered:

disable Cool 'n Quiet

disable C1E

disable Core C6 State (doesn't have to be, but making sure not effecting)

Load Line Calibration Maximum (or vDroop)

what happens if you increase voltage to 1.425v? better, worse, same?

Few days earlier it started throttling at 60*C and I think on higher voltage ~1.4V

like @Legitsu mentioned, sounds like the mobo is throwing in the towel.

You mean the vrms? I placed a fan behind the mobo - now it starts to throttle at 55*C . Problem solved.

it should't be throttling at all .. you need a better board or less overclock

I dont need neither of that because games dont go upto 55*C.

yes you do because you are obviously pushing the board to its limits the throttling has nothing todo with CPU temp is has todo with that the VRM's are getting to hot and can't supply enough power

witch means sooner rather then later you will blow the VRM's off the board and that will most likely be the end of the CPU as well

This is why avoid asrock am3+ motherboards, and stick to gigabyte and asus.

Edit: pick up a gigabyte ud3p and call it a day

Dont you think if it was 24/7 running near 55*C and throttling then it will damage something? Games dont go more then ~47*C.

nothing wrong with the ASrock boards its more about crappy AMD CPU's and there absurd power consumption when overclocked

there is a HUGE uptick in power consumption when you start pushing a FX chip beyond 4.5

I dont need it. Ofc for later builds not buying 4+1 boards.(or ASrock in general)

cpu temps don't mean anything you need the temperature of the VRM's

if its getting hot enough to cause a vrm throttle then you have a problem

back the overclock off

I am not getting this. Why then it doesnt start to throttle at 50?45? What are the VRM's at all.

My FX isn't bad, but i wouldn't go above 4.7 without liquid cooling

yours isn't but there is a HUGE Variance in AMD'S Binning process because there FAB's suck

True, hopefully AMD gets their shit up for Zen.

because you are APPLYING LOAD TO THE CPU

jesus :banghead:

But WHY IT STARTS TO THROTTLE AT 55*C!?!? I DONT REACH THAT SO I AM SAFE ARENT I!?!!?!

Didnt know that you can go upto 4.7Ghz with a Hyper t4 *-* Maybe those 300mhz are only a few degrees *C? mmmm 5ghz...
