Starting my build tomorrow.

OS: Plextor M6e

Storage: Samsung 850 Pro.

Additional Storage: 2 SSD in RAID 0

Trying to decide on AHCI or RAID.  My reason is I have 2 SSD right now in RAID 0 that I might as well use in the new system for additional storage.

So the question is, do I lose TRIM in RAID 0.  Some say yes some say no.  I am running Windows 8.1.

Further issue on this.  It would appear that it does not matter, AHCI or RAID in bios,  and here is why.  In my user manual ports SATA6G_ E2 and E1 only support AHCI mode.  Now, all the other ports are set by default to AHCI and if you want to change to RAID, the book says, you have to switch to RAID in the bios.  So, if I switch to RAID in bios can I use my Samsung 850 Pro in E2 or E1, which only supports AHCI and still have trim, while using my current SSD in Raid 0 in the other ports?  Will they have TRIM?

So now I am getting confused in all this.  Seems like no matter the bios setting since E2 and E1 only support AHCI they will have TRIM no matter the bios setting.
