Hi Linus Tech community,

I am currently building a system, the specs are:

4790k

Maximus VII Hero

HX1000i

Vengeance LP 16gb

Corsair 450d

GTX780 SLI

Noctua NH-D15

I had everything working and it was entering BIOS. I then tried starting it to install windows and it would just begin to boot for about half a second then stop and do this repeatedly. The Q-code 13 would be the last one to show before it restarted. I have tried reinstalling the CPU, Ram (including trying individual DIMMs) resetting the CMOS and still having the same issue. 13 is the code for pre-memory CPU initialization.

I changed nothing on the inside of the system between when it worked before and when it stopped working and the time i got it to enter the BIOS the CPU temp was 30c which is pretty normal if you ask me.

If anyone knows any possible solutions please post. Thanks!

Try re-seating the GPU, make sure all cables are properly connected.

Can you take an image of the internals?
