I made a pc the way I would like my life partner. It's really cute and small, doesn't make a lot of noise most of the time, but is strong and powerful when you want it to be.

The websites linked underneath the product name are two local shops where I would like to buy the components from. With the intentional exception of the Ncase since it's only available over the internet. I still have a few questions about this build and I would like to hear your comments about it.

Green: I already know 100% sure I want this. I'm convinced it's the best for my system and I don't need help on this item.

Orange: I'm not sure about this piece of hardware. Can you confirm that I'm right, or that I should perhaps use something else.

Ncase
Already bought this, not much space left to change here.
€222

SilverStone SST-SX600-G
Small, powerful. Good brand.
€150

SilverStone Kit
I don't want to risk braiding the cables by myself because I'm too afraid I will break something. Does it have any consequences if I braid the long cords I get with the PSU or do you recommend buying this set?
€35

ASUS Z97I-PLUS
Does it actually give a significant difference if I buy this MOBO or if I get something cheaper like this >link< it will save a lot of money.
€215

Intel i7-4790K
Really? Do I need hyper-threading? It does run on a way higher clock speed than it's i5 counterpart though.
€329
€325

ASUS STRIX-GTX970
Strong enough, can only fit one in. STRIX is nice and silent. Don't want to spend €200 extra for 20% more performance.
€369
€359

Crucial M550 512 GB
Best SSD, I'm convinced about this one.
€223
€225

Crucial 16GB DDR3 RAM
Ram has to be LP because of the CPU cooler taking up all the leftover space. But perhaps any other suggestions?
€130
€135

Noctua CPU cooler
Noctua is simply the best cooling brand. It fits inside the ncase without a problem unlike many other CPU coolers
€57

Noctua Case cooler
LP and by my favourite brand: Noctua
€25 ps

Thanks for everyone's time <3

ASUS Z97I-PLUS

Intel i7-4790K

ASUS STRIX-GTX970

Mobo really doesn't matter, just get the cheapest Z97 mITX you can find with VRM heatsinks

Are you overclocking the CPU?

In a case with subpar GPU airflow like the NCASE M1, don't get STRIX unless you plan to put a case fan under it. Get a 970 with fans that are on all the time, like a Zotac.

Desktop: Intel Core i5 2380P (2400 w/o iGPU), MSI H61, 8GB RAM, 256GB SP610, 500GB WD Blue, HIS R9 280, Antec TruePower Classic 550W, Inwin MANA 134, QNIX QX2710, CM QuickFire Rapid, Logitech G402

Laptop: Toshiba Satellite L40D, AMD A6-6310, 6GB RAM, 500GB HDD, Radeon R4 Graphics, 14" 1366x768

Phone: iPhone 6 Space Gray 64GB, T-Mobile $60/mo 3GB plan

I need to follow your philosophy for making PC's... im doing that.

As for the motherboard, It would be okay to go with the cheaper one. For the cable extensions, It would create a little more clutter than normal, but other than that its a good choice.

The fans turn on when the GPU hits 50 degrees, It shouldn't be an issue

Okay, Mobo is definitely going to be a cheaper one then. They probably just made it red with a flashy ROC name to put a higher price tag on it.

Yes, I will be overclocking the CPU to perhaps 4.4 - 5.0Ghz with the i7

GPU: I need to look into which GPU would fit in though. It's all pretty tight. All the EVGA models of the 970 don't fit for example.

Which is going to be a lot of the time, so the fanless mode now becomes pretty much pointless.

How about this? http://pcpartpicker.com/part/zotac-video-card-zt9010110p

I posted it on the Ncase speadsheet. I'll await to see if anyone can confirm if this fits inside.

Edit:

Found this in my local shop:

AMP Omega just a fancy name for factory overclocked and therefore more expensive?

No, the AMP Omega is a different card. It uses a non-reference PCB, as well as better power delivery, a better cooler, and 8-pin power connectors, all designed to allow for higher overclocks to be achieved then the standard Zotac 970.

Desktop: Intel Core i5 2380P (2400 w/o iGPU), MSI H61, 8GB RAM, 256GB SP610, 500GB WD Blue, HIS R9 280, Antec TruePower Classic 550W, Inwin MANA 134, QNIX QX2710, CM QuickFire Rapid, Logitech G402

I saw a review on the card saying that it wasnt that special and it also was really overpriced compared to other cards. The oc that the AMP could do vs other non reference cards was nearly the same and gave no special boost in gaming.

It is overpriced compared to other cards because although there is a difference between how high you could OC, the difference isn't big enough to justify the cost. However this doesn't mean it's not a different card in terms of both cooler and PCB then the standard Zotac model like I said it was.
