having a psu with the ability to deliver more watts than what you need will make no difference to the components, why not get a 780? and either way they bout only use 250watts each so even with 2 and oc everything 1000 watts is even more than enough

and it wont save 'electricity' it will draw the power it needs and thats all, however it might be slightly more efficient going from ac to dc at different wattages

I know I have ax1200i but I might get two 680 in the future plus will that psu mess up anything if I use that much watts on a single graphics card for now? And will it save electricity ?

I agree with most things on that list except for the dominator platinum? There is no reason to ever and I mean ever get dominator platinum unless you just want it to show off. Also something like a seasonic x 850 would be more than enough even with 2 cards in sli. Plus its 80 plus gold and how can you go wrong with seasonic?

Platinum ram and psu are a waste of money.

With a system cost of $1800, you can easily fit a 780 in there.

The psu is definitely overkill. For some perspective, a good 800w psu

will have no problem running 2 780's in sli.

Also, are you sure about such an expensive case? Unless you're doing some custom cooling loops, paying that much of a tower isn't the best value.

Here are some possible changes: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/16WDq

I would still get a cheaper case though.

What about if I were to get 1 or 2 titans? I don't know I was just thinking about getting a psu like that because of "future proofing"

And I got the ram for free so it really doesn't matter.

Oh that's another thing I needed to ask is the saber tooth bad? I know people tell me it only cost because of the looks but is that the best board for a i7-3770k?

titan uses the same wattage as a 780 and the 680 its still 250 watts so theres no difference.

you got dominator platinum's for free how and where can I acquire this skill?

The Saber tooth boards are all pretty solid performers

The sabertooth is in functionality not a bad motherboard. However, the price is quite high and you're paying about $100 for a piece of plastic.

There are always better boards but the difference between a cheaper good z77 board and the best z77 board isn't much when it comes to limiting the functionality of the 3770k.

Basically, it's not worth it price/performance-wise to get the sabertooth.

As long as the z77 board is decent and isn't absolute trash, get the cheapest one you can find and save your money.

Btw, Asrock has a good selection of black z77 boards. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-z77pro3

Yeah but money really isn't the problem but would any of the parts i got bottleneck anything i have? I might get 32gb of ram later on too. Yes I do need it for rendering videos.

I doubt you need 32gigs. 16gigs is plenty.

Especially with your budget, you should have a 780.

Platinums are a waste of money. No need to spend more money on parts you don't need when you could save up for a second 780.

A 1200w is for something like a triple sli. A 750w bronze will be plenty for a 780 sli.

You're spending the majority of your money on parts that don't improve performance.

Look into pouring your money into the gpu/cpu for your needs.
