Hello all,

I am stuck between these two builds.

They are identical except for the chipset, which means different mobos and cpus.

The main thing holding me back from the haswell build is the mobo.

Any comments/suggestions are appreciated as I plan on purchasing before the weekend ends.

Thanks a lot,

Sam.

First build is incomplete. First one is better nonetheless.

How so? All you need is an OS, keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Most system builds don't post those because they are peripherals. People are expected to have those already. Also, if you use Ubuntu, it's free and you don't need an optical drive.

Why the XFX over the ASUS model? The ASUS model has a better, quieter cooler that has 2 quiet fans over 1 loud one. Also, it's cheaper and XFX is really bad with their RMAs and customer support.

xfx has a better warranty than asus if you overclock the asus it voids the waranty

i was an idiot once and overclocked a xfx 7850 to much and it overheated and it got screwed up

with xfx its ok to overclock they will replace your card and also the warranty its for life

You can reset the graphics card BIOS and they have no way of knowing you OC'd it in the first place. Linus even said this in a video. Also, these cards are designed for overclocking and they even encourage you to overclock it. Why do you think they always advertise how good their VRMs are and how they come bundled with OC software like GPU Tweak? Also, if you overclock, you do it at your own risk anyway and you should know what you are doing. Many people have had terrible experience with XFX, and even if you don't, the ASUS card will still give you greater performance because of its superior DirectCU II cooler.
