I recently decided to fix computer problems for my way to make money. the problem is that it's ridiculously slow, tried cleaning spyware & malware but it's still slow.there isn't any unnecessary programs either. I'll try disk cleanup next but I'm at a loss.

it's a hp pavilion g6

If i wanted to be thorough I'd back up everything by cloning to another drive. Format the drive, reinstall the OS and apps and then restore the data files from the clone. Takes awhile and you don't want to miss any data such as easy to forgot items like outlook pst files etc.

Then if performance was still abysmal you know it is likely the poor performing hdd.. then you could clone to a better hdd or ssd if you don't mind investing in such... or maybe then just plug in the cloned drive that you made in step one and see how it performs, maybe the read heads were going bad on the old drive

Try cleaning off all the bullshit programs that seem to magically appear when people use computers for a while.

did you actually read my post or just the title, cause I said there wasn't any unnecessary programs installed.
