So I would like to put a quadro I'm my system but I already have a 970. I have seen people put two different cards in there system of course without sli or cross fire. So I'm wondering how this improves performance and how it works.

Ps. I already own the quadro so please don't say it's not worth it and not to buy it.

It depends on what you're doing. Most things don't just 'gain performance' when you add another card.

Well, you just put it in, what happens is the second card accelerates things like CUDA/OpenCL and the primary card drives the displays and helps with the acceleration.

For example, in Edzel's work rig, there's a 780 and then there's a Quadro, he uses the quadro to drive his displays (better colour or something) and the 780 for CUDA.

Compatible with Windows 95

You can use the 970 as your main gpu where you plug your monitors in, then have a quadro for computing. If the program you're using supports it, there should be an option for it to render using the quadro.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Im not sure how the quadro cards work since they often doesnt have any display output, I know it is for computing, It would probably help with the CUDA and such.
But adding another regular GPU would make you able to have a seperate process entirely for other monitors.

You could use the quadro to get more colours

but the quadro will be based on a much older gpu so there will be little performance

but additional functionality eg greater colour depth

What Quadro do you have?

Quadros offer 10 bit color and a higher level of precision. Probably more important for you a few extra CUDA cores, which will help render times a bit.

Quadros all have display outputs. You are thinking of Teslas, which do not.
