Hey all,

So at the moment i've got a GTX 760 just as a starter that i've had for a year, and 2 monitors.

I was thinking of upgrading to a GTX 970, but i don't really have the cash at this moment in time without making myself poor for a few months to compensate :L

I'm really into my simulators, like racing sims, truck sims, flight sims etc. and I also enjoy FPS games and strategies. I often find it hard to play a flight sim on a single monitor and i desire a 3 monitor surround.

Would a GTX 760 (stock) handle a simulator at very high-ultra settings across the 3 monitors, or should I just invest in the GTX 970 and another monitor?

Thanks!

  • 2 weeks later...

it wont handle ultra, i reckon medium but try mixing settings alot of people use the presets but find that some settings on ultra and some on medium looks the same but they get 10-20+ fps, find your sweet spot, get another monitor and dont send yourself bankrupt with a 970, get that later maybe tax time or even get 2!

It wont handle ultra. Maybe medium although im not sure. It will require quite a lot of horsepower since tripple 1080p monitors have more MP than 1440p and you can basicly forget even that with a 760.

Get a used 760, should be pretty cheap by now. I ran triple 1080's on a pair of 660ti's. Decent settings on most games, maxed the games I prefer to play at the time.

You assume the simulators will support SLI properly.

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.

If they are made well unlike bf4, shouldn't be an issue. Compared to the non stop issues being posted about the 970 lately.

I just never assume all programs use multiGPU properly Haha

If it doesn't then I don't play it, the same could be said for surround. No game is worth taking a card out, especially after spending so much money.

I always go straight for most powerful single GPU at the time if possible. If you're on a budget but power is needed, two runner-up-to-flagship cards are great, but if I can I always avoid.

*sniff* I want two 980Ms T-T

I would say the same but idk if the 980 classified will give me the frames I need running bf4 ultra on surround.
