It's incredibly overkill, it's pure luxury unless you plan to do some seriously extreme things. Overpriced IMO

The Build is just about looks and to be honest I think everybody can agree with me the look of that moterboard is the best on the whole Z97 chipset (k the ASUS Marsk S can compeete)

@RockiLocky

Both Linus and TTL did a review video IIRC, but be aware, that you pay a lot for brand, looks, features you may not need/use and a waterblock. If you are fine with that, go ahead, if not, it might not be your best option.

What would you recommend me instead of the formula then?

Do you think the MSI Gaming 9AC is good?

Well, as you can see in my signature, personally I did go with the Formula, and yes, it was mainly for looks and the waterblock (features didn't hurt either), and I've always liked ASUS and their ROG brand when it came up - so for me it was the right choice. Just like to make sure other people know what they pay for (and what they will get), if they do.

I haven't had boards other than ASUS for a long time, so my personal experience with other manufacturers and their boards is exactly zero, so I won't comment on their products (although Gigabyte, MSI and Asrock do have good stuff as well).

If you like ASUS ROG design/looks you might check out the Maximus VII Hero (or Ranger), or for a basic board with all normal features, check the ASUS Z97-A or Z97-AR

Or any other board of the big four manufacturers - there's not much that could go wrong with their Z97 boards.

So far, just as expected. It runs, everything works, while looking good. Nothing more, nothing less. After all, it is just a motherboard, nothing magical going to happen that would make people scream OMG! ;)

Can't complain... but I need to get some betters speakers and headphones if I want to really judge audio quality. And those are way down on the bottom of the list...
