Software that could limit things

Go to solution Solved by ShadowCaptain,

Coz I think I broke my old pc when I kept on restarting it.

No effect on an SSD?

restarting a PC does not break it, my PC is started up and shut down at least twice a day, at work my pc is shut down every evening

no effect on SSDs, which actually have a much longer life than people give credit to

leaving your PC on vs turning it off honestly makes very little difference to its life span, arguably leaving it on means that the components are constatly running under load with a higher temperature, so it works out pretty even

I am going back to the province this christmas season. Unfortunately there is no space for my computer in the house plus I didnt bring along my peripherals including monitor. What will I do is Im going to lend my computer to a friend who owns a computer shop. we agreed that his costumers can use it. my problem is the downloads and modifications of my pc.

Is there any program that disables downloads and/or modifications

I am aware of deepfreeze but, if I were to patch/update a game  I need to disable it and restart it and lock it again. I am not a fan of restarting my pc over and over again

are there any other programs?

I think deepfreeze is probably the only reliable way of doing it, what is our fear of restarting your pc again and again? most pcs get turned off once or twice a day and function just fine, there is no damage caused by turning off your computer

Wow really? thats insane, I would never leave a laptop running, I am the total opposite, everything stays off unless it is being used, so my laptops might only get switched on for a few hours a week, never had a computer or laptop break
