So, with my winter break approaching soon, I want to get into reading some of my fiction books again, (I used to buy books, I even have autographed Star Wars novels).

So any recommended eBook reading software?

Open Source/FOSS would be nice, and cross compatibility across *nix, Windows, and mobile is a plus as well.

If there is a non FOSS software available, that is fine, assuming the features and functionality are well polished.

Also, I'm new to the eBook idea. I understand the most popular format is ePub, right?

Anything I should know before hand, or useful information?

PS: Posted this in off topic since it really doesn't seem to fit into any particular sub-forum, and I am also asking for your community input and opinions.

Calibre is my goto. it reads all formats and can output to all formats

Ok, was looking at Calibre earlier today. Was just curious as to what others use. Specifically on mobile.
