Laptop comparison

How do these laptops compare in terms of gaming performance? Both 1366x768. The Acer will be Christmas presents for my little brothers, so I want to know how they compare to the very first laptop I ever had (the HP) so that I know what to expect in terms of gaming performance and what games will run on their systems.

Acer is much faster, and it will still stuggle with most games, even minecraft. Even bigger flash games. I have pentium n3530 on my 2in1 and it doesn't run anything well enough to play. Bioshock 1 on medium barely.

it's not a gaming notebook, it's more like a netbook. i really wouldn't expect to game on the thing

What type of gaming experience do you expect your brother dealing with? Browser games or more of puzzle type of games or (worst case scenario) first person shooters like Battlefield and CoD.

Acer low budget line shares the same so called "you get what you pay for" products, just like HP. And besides browser games and really low requirement games from 2000's/ 2005, I personally don't expect much from gaming because of their Intel HD onboard graphics. (The Intel HD 3000 wil do better at gaming then what this Acer has to offer).

But generally I don't recommend laptops with Celerons and Pentiums (AMD's Essential series and A4 APU's included) because they are way too slow for any modern usage except for maybe dedicated email/ school devices.

Definitely the Acer. It's based on the new Intel Bay Trail platform which is much more improved and optimized for mobile computers in terms of performance per watt as well as power consumption and heat production compared to the very old Core 2 Duo based platform of the HP.
