It's that time of the year again... After chrismas, here comes the boxing day. I plan on taking advantage of the lower prices to build a brand new computer. However, I have no clue what I'm doing when it comes to speakers... Hence why I'm asking you guys some help. I've looked at a lot of Linus's videos, but he only covers very expensive speakers. I have constraints that prevent me from getting some 300$ speakers.

- 100 CAD budget (lower price than that if possible)

- No sound card in the computer

- Either a 2.0 or 2.1 set

I was looking at http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836116043 (Creative T20 II) for the 2.0 setup and http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836121036  (Logitech Z523) for the 2.1 option.

However, the T20s are very expensive compared to the speakers on the american newegg (which are about half of the price) and I'm not sure if they're worth the price.

Are the T20s worth it? Are the Z523 simply a better option? Or did I completely missed good speakers around that price point?

EDIT: I will be using those speakers for gaming, movies and music listening... Not that I know if it makes a difference...

Depending on your budget I would go for the corsair speakers they are pretty nice for what i see online. As for the creative speakers i don't know how good they are I would like to belive they sound good but they are a bit pricey and don't come with a subwoofer. just get the best 2.1 system you can find. Also if you want 5.1 check these out...

The t40s are at the same price because they're on sale. Maybe I'll grab them while they're there.

I agree with you that there aren't many brands of speakers here. I looked up on internet for review and stuff but the speakers never were available here :(
