So thePSU I'm going to attach my anti static wrist strap to is 100% unpainted. I'm going to attach the cable form the PSU to the wall outlet (3 pin UK, thus grounded). I'm going to make sure that the PSU is off. This is how it works, right?

I don't give a shit about your non anti static wrist strap argument either, I've read enough articles from electricians to make me paranoid, thus I won't go back on this argument.

yes, so check if the plug that goes to the wall has the ground pin/fins (IDK how's UK's plug)

Eh. It's basically the same just ground pin is more obvious. schuko was made to work with old socket and still have ground while uk didnt give a fuck and made another kind of plug.

I leave the PSU plugged in, but turn off the switch on the back. Ground will still be connected. Even using one of the screws on a painted PSU will be fine.
