GTX 970 Overclock

Go to solution Solved by Köhvwezd,

If nothing is crashing, it's safe

Hi guys

About three weeks ago I put together my first PC, and it's going great. I love the quality of PC games compared to their console counterparts.

I'm using a Gigabyte GTX 970 Windforce 3X and I have overclocked it since I set up my system.

Using EVGA Precision X, I boosted the GPU clockspeed by 210MHz and I boosted memory speed by 200MHz.

I ran Heaven 4.0 Benchmark and the system performed perfectly.

So now when I game my GPU runs at 1525MHz and temperatures never exceed 64oC.

I want to know if these speeds are safe for my card? Also, is there something I am missing here?

I know those temps are fine, right?

Thanks in advance

Sometimes when I play Kerbal Space Program, my graphics driver crashes and then recovers, but on all other games (BF4, AC4, Tomb Raider, GRID etc) there is no crashing.

Some games like it more than others. KSP hasn't been causing problems for me, but when I played Crysis 2, I couldn't get ANY overclocking going on, it would just crash almost instantly.
