Hey guys,

Just got a kit of Kingston Beast (2x4GB 2400Mhz CL11)

I replaced the previos kit of some 4GB 1333Mhz no name ram. After going into BIOS and setting an XMP profile or setting the memory speed higher than 1333 and exiting the bios, instead of rebooting the screen will just go black and computer will seem to still be running. When I manually restart it then it comes up with a Overclocking Error screen and I have to go into BIOS to set the speed back down to 1333 or lower for it to boot.

My PC Specs:

i7 2600k

P8H61-MX R 2.0

Kingston Beast (2x4GB 2400Mhz CL11)

Please help :) Don't want to run my memory at nearly half of the rated speed.

Is your CPU overclocked at all?  If so, you will need to set your CPU back to stock settings and redo your overclock.

I think it's because 1333mhz is 1.5V, and all the other XMP profiles run at 1.65V. And Sandy does not like 10% memory voltage increase. I think 5% (1.575V) is what is allowed max.

Triend running it 1600Mhz at 1.5 and still failed :(

Nope running stock speed with turbo on. You think turning turbo off will help ?

Triend running it 1600Mhz at 1.5 and still failed :(

Hm... those are my only two guesses.

Do you have another computer that you could plug the new RAM into.  Maybe the RAM itself is faulty?

... ofcourse it fails. Because the memory isn't stable at 1600 with that voltage.

You just chose the wrong memory with that particular CPU. You'd best return it and get 1600 @ 1.5 with a low CAS latency.
