Hey guys.

 

My sister is looking to upgrade from her current system (She's running an old stock Q6600 and some slow ass DDR2 and it's really not cutting it anymore.)  and I'm thinking for her needs of getting something with a mini-ITX form factor. Can anyone recommend some cases?  She has already said she doesn't like the boxy cube shaped ones, so preferably something that still looks like a normal computer. (Like the Hadron air/hydro, but maybe with a better build quality.)

It has to be able to fit an MSI 7870 (241mm long).

Also if you have any recommendations for a good mobo/cpu combination those would be welcome as well.  I'd like to get a mobo that has onboard wifi since she could potentially use it, but other than that I'm okay with anything.

What does she use the computer for?

I'd say the 250D would fit pretty nicely. Prodigy maybe? Depends what her budget is.

cooler master elite 110, and 250, but i think that those are to cuby, and the 110 may not fit that card.

 

also, i would say that a corsair 380t would be cool

Mostly gaming.  I'm looking to build her something moderately high end so that she won't need to worry about upgrading anything other than the GPU. (The components she has right now, aside from video card, are coming up on 7 years old.)  

 

Budget wise, I think she's planning on spending around $1K including some sort of new monitor. (Probably just a nice 1080p IPS display)  She's fine with the current GPU though.
