Hay I plan on getting an extra R9 280x for my rig but I am not shure if my psu the EVGA New Version SuperNOVA nex 750b 750w psu will be capable of running them... My cpu is the FX-8350. Also I might actually get 1 r9 290 and just put that in instead of two 280x... (unless it will be able to crossfire w/ the 280x) What do y'all think about that also?

I think he meant upgrade to the 290 instead of xfire 280xs

get the 290 - it uses just a bit more power than a 280x, but performance gain can be up to 50% more when comparing single core setups. a dual 280x will beat a 290, but only when a game scales well with crossfire, or even supports it.

the comparison speaks for itself though. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1058?vs=1068

Yeh I don't plan on over clocking... I think I will just get the extra 280x... It would probably be more powerful than one 290 anyways... Thanks for the help... P.S. Don't wory I won't even think to over clock with the small amount of power I would have left.

Really... I might just get the 290... I was upgrading to play Far cry at ultra relatively smooth. Do you think the one 290 will do that?

depends on whether crossfire support for Farcry 4 will be fixed or not.

I haven't play 4 yet, but apparently it should play well on a 290:
