Video card memory?

2GB is fine for my 270x system.

FC4, BF4 and various other games do not show any chop or vram thrashing of any kind.

Some games will (esp modded titles) Skyrim, Unoptimized titles as well that thrash unrealistic vram requirements are known for some issues, but can be tailored to run just as well with limited reducing of details.

3-4GB cards is SOON to be the norm, but not yet.

My friend told me the newer games will require 3gb of GPU ram to run smoothly, is this true?  Or in 2014-2015 can I just get a 2gb video card such as the r9 270x?  I play the borderlands games and skyrim on ultra as well as some MMO's so I want to be able to play pretty much any game on ultra at 50+ fps

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
