I didn't include a DVD drive as it would spoil the look of the case. You could go with an external USB DVD drive.

Guys he asked if there was anything he could change. The motherboard was fine, the GPU was fine. The only thing was the Powersupply may have been pricey. The one lolbry9 mentioned is perfect. The suggestions I mean are good, but he might want to stick with the MSI parts.

No harm in showing the op a different spec. Apart from the Corsair RM psu it is a pretty solid build.

The Phanteks case in my spec though will give a cleaner build as it hides a lot of the components. The psu is hidden under a cover, and the hard drives/SSD's are also hidden away.

Looking at my post I realized I came off mean, I should have rephrased that. All I meant was that there was nothing wrong what he originally chose is all. Sorry xD

I am planning to build a new PC by January and was wondering if this build was good

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/XsCVCJ

Please let me know if there is anything I should change to make it better.

Only changed a couple things. RAM: you could get better for cheaper, and it still matches the overall color scheme. PSU: First one was a little overkill for the current build, however you may be planning on adding a second 970, in which case the one you chose would be a good option too. Now you have a little room to get some goodies. This is almost exactly what I'd build at $1200 right now (maybe a different case, but that's it).

Motherboard: MSI Z97-GAMING 5 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($134.99 @ Micro Center)
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($104.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card  ($354.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Case: Corsair 760T White ATX Full Tower Case  ($149.99 @ Newegg)
Optical Drive: LG GH24NS90 DVD/CD Writer  ($19.98 @ OutletPC)
Total: $1185.78

If you are speccing an EVGA psu then you want the one in my spec above. The NEX is nowhere near as good.

Looks like a great build, though your power supply is serious overkill unless you're sure you will add a second GTX 970 for SLI.

Didn't change to much, you never really need an optical drive and I gave you a bit more storage capability, also I had to get the money from somewhere so I changed up the case but kept it Corsair and a case that I know is quality. With the spare cash you can buy other peripherals you might need aka: mouse, keyboard, maybe a monitor? all in all you choose some good hardware.

Isn't the Phanteks Enthoo Pro the same thing but cheaper.

The Luxe is a bit taller than the Pro. It also has a brushed Aluminium front and top Panel whereas the Pro is brushed plastic.

The Luxe also comes with an extra Fan installed in the roof. The Front of the case is also slightly different.
